COTTON

Characteristics:

  • Cool, soft, and comfortable
  • Wrinkles easily
  • Absorbs and releases perspiration quickly
  • Durable

Care Instructions:

  • Machine washable
  • Wash with similar colors since easy to fade
  • Can be ironed at high tempearture

LINEN

Characteristics:

  • Woven from the stems of flax
  • Twice the strength of cotton
  • Absorbs and releases perspiration quickly
  • Lightweight
  • Does not stretch
  • Wrinkles easily

Care Instructions:

  • Use gentle detergent and warm water when washing
  • Hand wash or dry clean only
  • Use press cloth between garment and iron
  • Turn fabric inside out to avoid iron marks and shine

WOOL

Characteristics:

  • Thick and highly absorbent
  • Will shrink if not washed and ironed with proper care

Care Instructions:

  • Because wool garments do not soil easily, they do not need to be cleaned after every use
  • Dry clean only
  • Store in a cool dry place
  • Iron at low temperature, use wool setting
  • Press on the reverse side of fabric

SILK

Characteristics:

  • Strongest natural fiber, made of silkworm cocoo
  • Known for its versatility, softness and comfort
  • Absorbs and releases perspiration quickly
  • Retains shape and drapes well
  • Fragile, and water absorbent

Care Instructions:

  • Dry clean only
  • Handle with care
  • Use press cloth between garment and iron
  • Store in cool, dry place
  • For long term storage, should be sealed against light, air, and insects

SATIN

Characteristics:

  • A smooth, lustrous silk fabric woven with floating yarns in the warp in many variations. Made of silk, rayon, acetate, nylon, or combinations of these yarns.
  • Has Silky Texture
  • Drapes Well

  • Use low heat when ironing

  • Turn fabric inside out to avoid iron marks and shine

CHIFFON

Characteristics:

  • WLightweight, sheer fabric
  • Made of silk or synthetic fibre
  • Has smooth and lustruous texture
  • Very fragile as material

  • Dry clean only
  • Use press cloth between garment and iron
  • Store in cool, dry place, without light

LYCRA

Characteristics:

  • Known for its exceptional elasticity
  • Stronger and more durable than rubber
  • Not easy to wrinkle
  • Comfortable

TULLE

Characteristics:

  • Fine, sheer net fabric
  • Made of silk, rayon, or nylon
  • Lightweight, with texture those of tiny hexagonal holes
